Fast bowler Mohd Shami has tested positive for COVID-19 but will not play in the upcoming three-day series against Australia. Shami will not be able to play in the upcoming three-day Mastercard T20I series against Australia after being found positive for COVID-19.
He has been replaced by Umesh Yadav, chairman of the All-India Senior Selection Committee, it said.
It has been confirmed that Navdeep Saini has been ruled out of the India A one-day series against New Zealand A after sustaining a groin injury.
Navdeep Saini has sustained a groin injury playing against South Zone in the Duleep Trophy semi-final. He will not be able to play in this tournament. He is ruled out of the ongoing Duleep Trophy tournament and also from the upcoming three-match one-day series between India A and New Zealand A. Saini will now go to the National Cricket Association for further treatment of his injury.
Rishi Dhawan is the latest member of India’s senior selection committee to be named as the new captain of the A squad.
