Shamsi took to Twitter on Tuesday to share a picture of him and India batsman Shreyas Iyer during a pre-match training session. The South African spinner put together an epic caption for the picture. Shamsi can be seen talking with Shreyas, who is batting his bat.  “Asked @ShreyasIyer15 for his bat before the game so he could stop hitting me for 6s haha,” Shamsi captioned the picture, before going on to add “you won this round bud!”

He said he would be better prepared to face the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders the next time the two sides were in direct contact.

Shamsi was unable to produce the best returns during the five-match T20I series between India and South Africa.

Shreyas was not at his best this year either; he scored just 96 runs in the five innings that he played.

It was great to start the series with knocks of 36 and 40, but he didn’t deliver in the next two matches. He was given just one delivery in the 5th Test in which he faced just one delivery before it was canceled due to rain in Bengaluru.

The left-arm spinner, who is used to taking wickets off batsmen, has taken just one wicket in four matches. He has conceded 102 runs in the 10 overs that he has bowled.

South Africa won the first two matches of the series, but India came back strongly in the third and fourth games to win the series.
